ALBERT (BERT) KOHLER Peacefully with his family by his side, Bert passed away at the Health Science Centre on Tuesday, January 22, 2002. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his beloved wife Delores; son Wayne (Nancy) Kohler; daughter Debbie (Don) Warenko; grandchildren, Shane (fiance Shannon), Tracy, Kristy, Amber and Brandon. He was predeceased by his father Fred, mother Albertina, brother Fred, and sister Edna. He leaves surviving sisters, Frieda Ulrich of Oakbank, MB, Herta Dimsdale of McClennan, AB, Ella Sterile and Alma Buss of Vancouver, Bertha Gowers (Ross) of Hamilton, and Florence Muirhead of Toronto; brother Egen (Mary) of Fraserwood, MB; and many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in Fraserwood. He moved to Winnipeg in 1951, married Delores in 1953. As a young man he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bert was a very devoted family man, generous and kind hearted. One of his greatest pleasures was caring for and following the activities of his grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Rev. Larry Ulrich officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with a gathering of family and friends in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Many thanks to the entire staff in the SICU, Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion, it was greatly appreciated.
