Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) LARENCE It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Bob Larence on Tuesday, January 22, 2002. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Pat of 48 years; and their children and grandchildren, Judi (John Laurie), Becky (Aaron), Ginny (Ashton), Amy; Peggy (Richard Haire), Leanne, Richard Jr. (Kelly), Michael, Steven, Caralee; Cindy (Jim Cervo), Tanner (Kathy), Krista (Dan), Raeanne (Rob), Cameron, Kyle, Dallin, Jeffrey all of Abbotsford, BC, Barbara (Les Lutz), Shawna, Alex, Carrie; Hugh (Rondine), Kyle, Amanda of Winnipeg; three great-grandsons, Steven, Devon and Tyler. Lovingly remembered by his mother Sadie Larence; brother Harold (Lillian) sisters, Irene (Dave Fraser), Noreen Dutiaume (Corky), Sadie, Genevieve Olson, and Darlene Giasson; sister-in-law Lucy Larence; his many devoted nieces and nephews; and numerous long-time friends and buddies. Bob was predeceased by his father Harry; brothers, Jim and Eugene (Erika) brothers-in-law, Gerald Olson and Denis Giasson and most recently his good buddy Gibby Mayer. Bob was born in Fisher Branch on June 12, 1931. He came to Winnipeg, where he was employed at Fairfields and then McGavins Bakery. He was President of Red River Refinishing Co. Ltd. a thriving family business for 26 years. With his children, Barb and Hugh, he expanded the business with the addition of Canwest Bathtub Liners Ltd. These businesses brought much joy to his life and in his retirement he continued to oversee the business during his morning coffee at the shop. He loved his hometown of Fisher Branch and returned weekly to his farm on the land that he loved. Dad and Mom raised their family and have resided in Weston for over 45 years. Dad always looked forward to the times with his friends and buddies at the Westbrook Hotel and Brooklands/Weston Legion #2. A Christmas Eve open house at their home was a yearly tradition, where family and friends would gather to enjoy listening to him playing his guitar and singing country tunes. He was a kind and generous man. Dads greatest joy was in his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support and kindness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Dads ashes will be returned to his hometown of Fisher Branch this summer.
