AUSTIN ALBERT ERICKSON Austin Albert Erickson passed away peacefully at Sharon House in Toronto, ON on January 25, 2002, following a lengthy illness. Austin was predeceased by his father Steini Erickson, mother Myrtle Thordarson, and stepfather Helgi Thordarson. He is survived by brothers, Wayne Thordarson (Christina), Kris Thordarson (Shirley) sister Evelyn Thordarson; nieces, Sharon (Lawrence) Goulet, Shannon (Kelly) Lee, and their families; friend Lillian Skulason; and numerous extended family members and close friends. Austin worked in Winnipeg before moving to Ontario. Following graduation, he worked for the Ontario Government Audit Department, where he was based out of Toronto. In 1993 he retired to his home in Hnausa, where he enjoyed re-visiting his childhood memories. Especially enjoyable were his trips to Hecla, and on Lake Winnipeg with his brother Kris, and friends. The family thanks Joyce Milgaard for her caring and support. Cremation has taken place, with burial to take place at a later date. A memorial service will be held at the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church on February 2 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Otto Christensen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hnausa Community Club in care of Tammy Einarson or a charity of your choice. Mannssalin Mannleg sal a ei morgun ne Kvold, upphaf ne endi.
