VERONICA (BETTY) BONHAM (nee KELLY) On January 27, 2002, Betty Bonham peacefully passed away at the age of 86 years. She leaves behind her loving husband of almost 63 years, Orville. She will be sadly missed by her five children, Donald (Julie), Ron (Kitty), Audrey, Gerry (Carol) and Barry; by her grandchildren, Gordon (Paula), Cheryl (Weldon), Beth, April, Fiona, Chelsea, Rhett and Peyton; and by her great-grandchildren, Arielle, Jordon and Freddy. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Florence, Norma and Beatrice (Mike) and her brother-in-law Floyd (Margaret). She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, Michael, Bernard, Mary Theresa and Joseph. Her sister Kathleen, passed away on January 29, 2002. Betty was born in Winnipeg and after graduating from Normal School moved to western Manitoba where she met and married Orville in 1939. They lived in many locations throughout rural Manitoba. In 1949, they moved to Winnipeg where Betty taught at St. Alphonsus School for 16 years until her retirement in 1973. Betty was loving, wise, quiet and gentle. She had a great love of her family, her chosen profession and her Irish heritage. Her love of God sustained her throughout her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, on Thursday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to thank the 3rd Floor Staff at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their superior care of Betty and for all of their support.
