Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN EVELYN CHRISTIE May 11, 1932 - January 28, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend at the age of 69. Helen was born in Moose Jaw, SK in 1932 and moved to Winnipeg in 1939. She was employed at Merchants Consolidated, CO-OP Implements, and River East School Division, where she remained until retiring in 1994. Helen was married for 20 years. Out of this marriage came four children. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ray and wife Dawnalee, Ken and wife Chris, Greg and Sandi; daughter Tracey Verbong and husband Willy; grandchildren, Cameron and Taylor Christie, Jesse and Haley Christie, and Derek and Chantel Verbong; brother William (Bill) Foster and wife Evelyn, brother Jack Foster; other family members, nieces and nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Reception to follow. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. A special thanks to all the staff and doctors at Concordia Hospital and Deer Lodge Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helens memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6. "Mom, one day well hold you in our arms again."
