FLORENCE CONSTANCE MCKAY On January 28, 2002, peacefully, with her loving family at her side, our dear mother entered into eternal rest. Mom was predeceased by our dad Valentine Mckay; son Kenny; grandson Conrad; sons-in-law, Henry Ballantyne and Thomas Fredborg; three grandchildren in infancy; also her parents, Solomon and Annie; nine brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sister Dora Buck (Joseph) her son Colin (Jeannie) daughters, Elsie (Raymond), Winnie (Henry), Eileen (Stefan) and daughter-in-law Penny. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grand-children. Mom lived in Grand Rapids most of her life and moved to Selkirk in 1978. Mom enjoyed a simple life, hunting, fishing, trapping, and working on her leather crafts. We are all proud of her accomplishments. She won many prizes at The Pas Trappers Festival for her mukluks, moccasins, jackets, hats, et cetera. Moms loving memories will be kept deep in our hearts, and will be cherished forever. Rest in Peace Mom, until we meet again. We will always love and miss you. Prayer service will be conducted by Pastor Stan Richards in Gilbarts Funeral Home on Wednesday (today) at 7:00 p.m. A wake will be held at the St. James Anglican Church in Grand Rapids on January 31. Funeral services will be held on February 1 at 11:00 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Doug Highway officiating. Her grandsons will be her pallbearers. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
