Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER PIDSADNY March 9, 1924 - January 27, 2002 It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and Gigi (grandfather) Peter Pidsadny on January 27, 2002, at the age of 77 years. Dad was predeceased by his parents, John and Natastia (nee Mazurkewycz) and his brother Fred and sister-in-law Pauline. Peter is survived by his loving and devoted wife Rose of 54 years; his sons, Wayne and Christopher (Karen) and grandchildren, Samantha (mom Melissa), Rebecca and Benjamin. Peter is also survived by brother Jim (Sophie) in Hamilton; sisters, Anne (Bill - deceased), Barbara (Stanley), Mary (Paul - deceased), Helen (Eddie - deceased), Margaret (Taras - deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Pansy, MB, where he lived until the age of 15, at which time he moved to Hamilton. He then returned to Winnipeg at the age of 20, and three years later met and married his wife Rose. Peter worked for Imperial Optical for 31 years until his retirement at the age of 64. Dad found great joy and happiness with his three grandchildren; they kept him active and happy. Dad also enjoyed being outside, his yard was his pride and joy. Dad will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and story telling. He never refused anyone a helping hand and will be remembered for his generosity. Prayers will be said from the chapel of Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Thursday, January 31 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with Fr. John Mostivsky officiating. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be nephews Ned, Ryan and Myron Smuk and friends Tony Gaudes, Lyle Philpott and Blair Jaquet. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Peter to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
