Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMOHINDER SINGH JHASS 1935 - 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mohinder Singh Jhass on Thursday, January 24, 2002. He was predeceased by his parents, Sunder Singh Jhass and Ram Kaur; his brothers, Gurcharan Singh, Avtar Singh. Mohinder Singh is survived by his loving wife Ranjeet Kaur; his sons, Navtaj (Pritpal) and Inderaj (Georgette) and grandson Parambir. He is also survived by his sister Harjeet Kaur Sehmi and late brother-in-law Baldip Singh Sehmi. Mohinder Singh was born in Nairobi, Kenya and grew up in the family business (Sunder Sons Electric. He married Ranjeet Kaur in 1957. He became a master at electric motor rewinding, auto electric and a rebuilder. He left Kampala (Uganda) in 1972 with his family for England and then arrived in Canada in 1975. Mohinder served Selkirk and the Interlake region for 24 years, Sandersons Auto Electric, Selkirk MB. He enjoyed and looked forward to the visits from Stan, Andy, Lloyd, Roger and Ray the Inventor. Old Mike always had a good story and joke now and then. Satisfaction was accomplished when jobs were opened, fault found, "Sure we can fix it, but lets improve it". He had long conversations on life situations with everyone that walked through the door. Mohinder Singh had extreme talent in engineering and design. He was an inventor of specialty tools and test equipment. He was highly skilled in all aspects of machining. His hobbies included his dogs (Alsatians), parrots, antique cars, woodworking, metal work, music, motion pictures and fine arts. In Kampala, he loved to hang out with "the boys" (brothers and brother-in-law Baldip). Mohinder enjoyed boating and water skiing on Lake Victoria, loved riding his 59 Harley FL, family picnics at Entebbe, and safaris to Nairobi almost every weekend. Mombasa was also a favourite destination. Mohinders favourite colour was white; white car. White is a good neutral colour. Mohinder was neutral with everyone; he never turned anyone away. He always respected ones needs, religion and race. Mohinder Singh was a man of faith. He believed your heart had to have faith in God to fulfill all the riches of life. Mohinder was an outstanding member of the Sikh community. His devotion to please people lead to many requests for his assistance in architectural, structural and to build numerous special religious projects. Mohinder Singh was well respected for his executive positions including years of directorship. He received many merits from numerous Gurdwaras (temples) for his contributions and inventions, which are here to stay. The family would like to thank Dr. Schrader, Dr. Hussain, Dr. Bedi and all our family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., phone 949-4860. Ardas and Bhog ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. on February 3 at Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan, 807 McLeod Ave., Winnipeg. WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH
