Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS (NICK) WORONA September 20, 1914 - January 28, 2002 Peacefully at the Selkirk District Hospital, Nick passed away in his 87th year. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Andrew and Conrad; and his sisters, Anna Stankewich and Mary Hladun. Nick leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mary of 61 years; children, Lawrence (Pearl), Norman, Doris, Harold, James, Valerie Ross (Mike) and Richard (Mary Lu) as well as four grandchildren, Lori Williamson, Andrew Worona, Robyn Ross and Jeffrey Ross; two great-grandsons, Cody and Dylan Williamson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law Mary Worona of Lowland. Nick was born in Brokenhead on September 20, 1914. During his lifetime he lived at Springwell, Lac du Bonnet, Beausejour, Green Bay, Libau, and his last place of residence was Selkirk. He worked several jobs in his lifetime, in the bush with his brothers, farming, well drilling with his brother-in-law Paul Slusarchuk. The family wish to thank everyone who looked after Nick at home, at the Red River Place and the nurses on the Medical Ward at the Selkirk Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Linden-Schmidt for his care at the hospital and the Red River Place. Cremation has taken place at the request of the family and a celebration of Nicks life will be held on Friday, February 1 at 1:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Homes, Beausejour, MB, with Fr. Wesley Cwieka. His cremated remains will be interred in the family plot at the Red Deer Cemetery in the spring. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Nicks memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
