SAM AMRUD Sam Amrud passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital. He was 72 years of age. Sam will be lovingly missed by his wife Elsie; sisters, Agnes Barlow, Ida Barlow of Davidson, SK, Sally (Beryl) Ryder of Saskatoon, SK.; brother Alvin Amrud of Saskatoon; sister-in-law Christine Amrud of Davidson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Albert Amrud; his brother Orvald; and a nephew, Ronnie Ryder. Sams family and friends will remember his dedication to his family and that he was always ready to lend a helping hand. Sam was born in Strongfield, SK in 1929. He met and married Elsie in Kindersley in 1956. He worked for the Co-op before moving to Winnipeg in 1958 as manager of Red River Co-op Service Station. Sams future career for 35 years was salesman for Viobin Vet Supplies and later with Dominion Vet Supplies. Among Sams greatest pleasures were his many friends and customers during this period. He was a member of the Kindersley Masonic Lodge and a member of King Edward Lodger No. 93 in Winnipeg. A special thank you is extended to Dr. G. Griggs, Dr. Pat Harris, the W.R.H.A Home Care Nursing Unit and especially Chris and the Palliative Care Unit at the Grace Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., with Rev. Peter Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, with Sams nephews serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sams memory can be made to the charity of ones choice.
