EMMA MARIA TOFFERI It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Emma Maria (Ojala) Tofferi, aged 91, at the Concordia Hospital on January 31, 2002. Emma was born February 16, 1910 in Kuru, Finland. She immigrated to Canada in 1961 after the death of her husband Aleksi Johannes Ojala in 1960. She was predeceased by her second husband Matti Ilmari Tofferi in 1987 and by her son Tuure Alvar Ojala in 1997. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Siiri (Reino) Vesa of Lac Du Bonnet, MB, Salme (Peter) Pinola of Piney, MB, Hella Koskela of Finland, Maija (Gary) Johnson of Oakville, ON; and sons, Arvo, Aarni and Armo in Finland, Pentti and Olli of Winnipeg and their wives. She leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous friends in Finland and Canada. She enjoyed having her family visit her and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and weaving until poor health prevented her from pursuing these hobbies. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at the Concordia Hospital and special thanks to Dr. Crow. Funeral services will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., on Monday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
