DONNA HEILAND Peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 1, 2002, Donna Heiland, beloved wife of Richard, passed away at the age of 64 years. Besides her husband, Donna is survived by one daughter Debra, sons, Howard (Darlene), Randy (Linda) and Jeffery (Marilyn) six grandchildren, Nick, Kristin, Jill, Tyler, Katie and Shayla. She also leaves to mourn her brothers, Ken (Lynne) England, Tom (Starr) and Donald; sister Suzanne (George) Barrow, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cared for everyone she knew. She was an active curler in various curling leagues over the years, and always enjoyed her evenings of bingo and her trips to the casino. She was employed at the Hudson Bay Company for many years, and ended her working career at Sun Valley Family Foods. Dixie will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday February 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. A special thank you to Dr. Carlos, Dr. Crow and Dr. R. Hayward, and the homecare nurses and staff of Palliative Care - St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., R3C 9Z9 or the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care, 409 Tache Ave., R2H 2A6. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
