PEARL LEE (nee Chan) With extreme sadness on Monday, January 28, 2002, Pearl Lee passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 92 to join our Lord in Heaven. Pearl was born in Toi Shan City, Canton China on March 02, 1909. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 to join her husband Tom in Sioux Lookout, ON. She enjoyed accompanying her family on frequent fishing and hunting trips and would even go fishing herself at the Iron Bridge. She loved her backyard garden and Saturday family dinners, where her specialty was BBQ Duck and Chinese sponge cakes. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pearl was baptized in 1979 and was a longtime member of the Chinese United Church. In 1984 she moved to Winnipeg into the seniors home Sek On Toi in Chinatown. Here she cherished her visits with her family and enjoyed independent living in her own apartment, where she loved to listen to Chinese Opera, read the Bible and meditate. Also watching cooking shows on TV. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted family and friends. Her husband Tom predeceased her in 1980. She is survived by her two children, her daughter Helen (Lorne) Chiu and her son Norman (Dolly) Lee. Her ten grandchildren, Lena (Harvey) Leung, Wayne (Anna) Chiu, Jim (Nancy) Lee, Don (Vivian) Lee, Mona Chiu, Bonnie Lee, Betty (Norman) Lawrence, Tony (Shana) Chiu, Doug Lee And David Chiu. Also her 14 great-grandchildren, Christina and Michael Leung, Derek and Nicholas Chiu, Kelle Moran, Tommy and Steven Lee, Joey Lee and Andrea Mascotto, Lexie and Sydnee Lawrence, TJ, Matthew and Kyle Chiu. Our sincere thanks go to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Viewing will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St. Funeral service will be held also at the chapel, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. As you enter into Heaven, We Will Miss You, but you will forever be in our hearts. We Love You.
