MERLE LOUISE "MERT" PENZICK (nee BARBOUR) Peacefully on February 1, 2002, Merle Penzick passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. Merle was predeceased by her parents, William and Jean Barbour; brother William Jr. (Evelyn) Barbour and her husband Frank Penzick. Left to cherish her memory are her son Craig (Suzanne), their daughter Colinda; her daughter Jean Watson, and her sons, Jayson and Jeffrey; her son Gary (Mandy) brother Frank (Helen) Barbour and her Aunt Peg. Merts parents immigrated from Scotland, and Mert was born in Winnipeg, March 14, 1928. Mert was a hard worker and worked for many years at Bowman Brothers and Stovels, which later became Lawson Graphics. Mert enjoyed her life to the fullest which included being an avid curling fan. She loved her pets, playing cards, T.V. game shows, movies and Bingo. Mert also enjoyed travelling and leaves many happy memories of her cottage at Booster Lake. Many thanks to all our family and friends for their support and the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Merts life will be held Tuesday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., R3B 2H8, or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., R3A 1P6. Mom, it was your dream to return to your beloved Scotland. We wish now on this final journey you will achieve this cherished dream. In care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
