Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH MURRAY CUDDY (RENTON) On Sunday, February 3, 2002 after a courageous battle in the Victoria General Hospital. Bette was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1922 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She made Winnipeg her home and was a staunch citizen of her adopted country through her 56 year marriage. Bette is survived by her loving husband John; son Douglas Ian (Margaret) of Mississauga; daughter Shelagh Margaret (Raymond) Girouard of Winnipeg; sister Margaret (David) Brown of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Angela, Kerri and Michael of Mississauga, Sara and Erin Girouard of Winnipeg and a number of loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert J. and Elizabeth Renton, and a brother Douglas G. Renton. Bette served in the Second World War in the Royal Observer Corps Division of the WAAF, following employment with foremans Mutual Insurance in Glasgow. Her greatest pride and enjoyment was with her family. Bette was a long time resident of the Riverview area. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Victoria General Hospital for the care extended. A memorial reception will be held to celebrate her life at the Fort Rouge Legion No. 97, 426 Osborne St., on Sunday, February 17 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or to a charity of ones choice.
