HELENA LYDIA MARIE DESROSIERS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at the Grace General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was predeceased by her husband Conrad in 1995; her brother Frank Theriault in 2001, and both of her parents. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Sue (Bob) McCallen, grandson Tom (Wanda) McCallen, great-grandchildren, Shaylene and Tanner, grandson Chris (Maria) McCallen, grandson Daryl (Sherrie) McCallen and great-grandsons, Brandan and Michael; daughter Carol (Norm) Jones, granddaughter Dana Jones, great-grandchildren, Amber and Maxwell; daughter Anita (Grant) Rondeau, granddaughters, Carina (Dale) Kirk, Wendy (Gordon) Rondeau and Megan Rondeau; two sisters, Jean and Anita; sister-in-law Bernice Theriault and two brothers, Lawrence and Georges. The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris of Grace General Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion, which helped Helen keep her dignity, and for never letting her feel alone. Helen was born in Sudbury, ON on February 4, 1927, and she retired from Beacon Hill Lodge in 1990. She enjoyed many happy times at the cottage at Balaton Beach and had many hobbies, some of which were crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She relished the time spent with family, playing with her great-grandchildren and talking with her grandchildren. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations may be made in her name to the Grace General Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3J7. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 12:30 p.m. also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, with Fr. Raphael Glofcheski officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bob McCallen, Tom McCallen, Chris McCallen, Daryl McCallen, Norm Jones, and Brian Nash. Honorary pallbearers are Grant Rondeau and Jason Boroweic. DEAR LORD Put your arms around her, Hold her in your tender care Make up to her for all she suffered And all she had to bear. She went through so much in silence Her spirit didnt bend She faced her pain with courage Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose her But she didnt go alone For part of us went with her The day God called her home. WE LOVE YOU, MOM.
