NICHOLAS ALLEN Suddenly on February 5, 2002 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Nick Allen, aged 87 years, of Selkirk passed away. Nick was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary in 1999 and leaves surviving his daughter Sharon and his sister Dorothea Nelson of the USA. Nick was born in Blaine Lake, SK where he spent many years with the boy scouts and also played junior hockey. He proudly served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War and then spent most of his life in Selkirk. After retiring as a bricklayer at the Rolling Mills he enjoyed his retirement with Mary by gardening, looking after his cats, and visiting Sharon in New York and Montreal. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Cemetery, on south Main Street, Selkirk. Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved Mary. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
