ROBERT (BOB) BATTELLINO January 8, 1929 - February 4, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bob Battellino on February 4, 2002. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered by his family and friends. Bob was predeceased recently by his wife Verna. He is survived by his sons, Carl (Sue) of Edmonton and Don (Pat) of Winnipeg; young granddaughters, Alexis, Amy and Taylor; brother Roy (Millie) Battellino of Walnut Creek, CA; sisters, Violet Sharpe of San Jose, CA and Verna (Virgil) Kvern of Winnipeg. Bob was a 34 year veteran of MTS and during his years gained many lasting friendships with the "boys" who continue to meet and talk about past times. From 1952 he spent many happy times in the area of Grand Beach with his buddies, Dick Savage, Al Gallwey and Gordie Ricker. Dad was a healthy man of 73 years who beat the odds just last March, but then faced much change and personal loss of his wife and his best friend, Dick. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobs memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
