DAPHNE EWANIKA July 24, 1935 - February 2, 2002 It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Daphne after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Theodore (Ted), sons, Dwayne and Dwight, brothers Noel and Brian and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Joseph and her mother Emily Legere. Daphne was born and raised in Toronto. After a short time as a Bank Clerk she joined Air Canada where she served 10 years as a Flight Attendant. Shortly after she married Ted she left Air Canada to be at home with her two sons. Later she joined Darcy and Deacon Law Firm as a Legal Title Searcher, a job she called her labour of love because of the wonderful people she worked with. Daphne loved gardening, crafts, but her greatest love was her family. Her bubbling personality and wit will be missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the wonderful and kind staff of the Health Sciences Centre, Wing HG6 for their compassionate care of Daphne. Also special thanks to all the wonderful friends for their support during her illness. Cremation has taken place. Service will be held at St. Alphonsos Church, 300 Donalda Ave., East Kildonan, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers give Daphne a moment in your thoughts and say a prayer.
