Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCESCA SCHILLACI It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Francesca Schillaci peacefully at the Middlechurch Nursing Home on Monday, February 4, 2002 at the age of 91 years. Francesca has joined her love and husband, Salvatore, and daughter Agostina in eternal rest. Left to cherish many fond memories are her loving son Salvatore, daughter-in-law Michelina, son Giralamo, and daughter-in-law Sonia; seven grandchildren, Mario (Shirley), Michael, Joe, Leonard, Paul, Franca (Dexter) and Tony; 13 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Anthony, Nick, Jennifer, Krystalynn, Mathew, Jonathan, Michael, Carla, Kyle, Joel, Jessica and many longtime friends and family in Winnipeg, Toronto and Termini Imerese, Italy. Francesca was born in Termini, Imerese, Province of Palermo, Italy, on July 10, 1910. Francesca met her husband Salvatore and they married in 1926. After the war, the family decided to make a better life for themselves; her son Salvatore immigrated in January of 1951 to Winnipeg; Francesca, her husband Salvatore, son Giralamo and daughter Agostina, came to Canada in 1952 and joined Salvatore in Winnipeg. Prayer Vigil will be held on Sunday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Rosary Church, with Rev. Fr. Michael Savarimuthu presiding at the Eucharist. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald St. Pallbearers will be Mario, Michael, Joe, Leonard and Tony Schillaci and Nicholas Vlahos. The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Middlechurch Nursing Home for their excellent care.
