Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS RAYMOND LAMB Thomas Raymond (Ray) Lamb passed away peacefully at home, February 7, 2002, after a lengthy illness. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Audrey. Ray was born at Valparaiso, SK, living in Moose Lake, The Pas, Valparaiso, and then Hudson Bay, SK, where Ray started his 42 year CN Railroad career. His work took him to such places as northern Ontario, Minnesota and BC, with years in Manitoba spent as Station Agent in Margaret, Cardale, and Fisher Branch, where he was an active community member. He worked in Lumby, BC, from 1968 until his retirement in 1984. Ray and Audrey enjoyed living in Vernon, overlooking beautiful Kalamalka Lake from 1969 to 1993, when Rays health dictated a move. They then made their home in Kamloops, where they again found many good friends and neighbours. Ray is survived by his wife Audrey; daughter Raelene (Peter) Tulk of Kamloops; sons, Tom (Elaine) of Nanaimo, BC, and Barry (Debi) of Spruce Grove, AB; and his six grandchildren, who were the joy of his life; Peter, Scott and Tiffany Tulk, Chelsea and Ryan Lamb and Melissa Lamb. He is also survived by his brother Beverley (Joyce) Lamb of The Pas, MB; his sister Monelle (Gene) Oman of Grand Marais, MB; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Russell Layman of Ladysmith, BC, and Frank and Isabel Smith of Winnipeg, MB. He also leaves many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and good friends. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Bessie Lamb; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pearl and Wesley Fierheller, Nelson and Mary Smith and Francis Smith. Ray spent many hours writing poetry, some being published, with one appearing in a book on display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. He wrote a poem for all special occasions, whether happy or sad and each of his grandchildren had a special poem written for them by "Poppa." Ray enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to travel with his wife Audrey, making many wonderful trips to different parts of the world until they discovered cruising. To Ray, the most memorable trip he and Audrey made was a Caribbean cruise with their children and grandchildren to celebrate their 50 years of marriage. A loving and caring husband, father and poppa, we will miss you until we meet again. Flowers are gratefully declined, but those who wish, may make a donation to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia St., Kamloops, BC, V2C 2T1 in memory of Ray. A memorial service to celebrate Rays life will he held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, at the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour St., Kamloops, with the Very Reverend Nick Parker officiating.
