DORIS DOMINICA MALAR (nee GORDA) It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Doris Malar on February 5, 2002. Born June 27, 1911 in Leonard, MB, she married her beloved husband Joseph (deceased January 31, 1998) on November 24, 1935 in Elphinstone, MB. She leaves to mourn her passing her only son John (Jack) two sisters, Alice Ptasnik of Winnipeg and Victoria Bourrie of Chilliwack, BC; many nephews, nieces, grand and great nephews and nieces. Her parents, Gavriel and Sanchira predeceased her; as did her sisters, Mary, Rose and Mabel; brothers, Nick, John, Jim, Harry, Bill and George; infant sisters, Vera and Pauline. Doris was employed for several years in the needle trade business and more recently successfully represented Avon products as a sales person. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 7 (tonight), at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson, with Rev. Fr. B. Kyba, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. We would be remiss not to extend our most humble thanks for their special care and attention to the Holy Family Nursing Home where she resided until her demise.
