HELEN THIESSEN 1904 - 2002 On February 12, 2002 Helen Thiessen went to be with her Saviour. She has joined her husband Aaron who was her soul mate for 70 years, and once again they are walking hand in hand, this time in the presence of the Lord. She is survived by three daughters and one son, Dorothy (John Hiebert), Harry and Susanne, Mabel Friesen, Gladys (Dave Piper) 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son John and one daughter Margaret; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also a number of siblings and their spouses, leaving two brothers and one sister, Dave and Tina Rempel, Bill and Leola Rempel and Tina Rempel. We would like to thank Meadowood Manor for the care mom received, especially the last few weeks. Mom had a few favourite nurses and health care workers, but we cannot single out any one special, but they will know who they are. However, we have to say a special thank you to Russ who became like a grandson to mom from the day she moved in. He was precious to her and showed much love and care. To Pastor Hamm, we owe a great deal of gratitude for the spiritual nourishing he gave to mom. She found great strength and encouragement in his messages and his personal visits. A time of celebration of moms life will be held on Monday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 870 Carter Ave. at Stafford. Viewing at the church prior to the service.
