MAJOR EILEEN ASHWELL (nee ROUND) Peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 Major Eileen Ashwell passed away at Grace Hospital at the age of 67 years. Eileen is survived by husband Major Lewis Ashwell, sons, Bram (Linda) and Paul; grandchildren, Brandon and Brooklyn; sister Sandy DAoust (Claude) brother Robert Round (Marion) as well as nieces and nephews. Eileen was active in the Salvation Army with Correctional Services. She enjoyed ministering to those at Stony Mountain Penitentiary and Rockwood Correctional facility and as Chaplain for Assiniboia Downs. She enjoyed singing with the Songsters at church. Eileen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and as such, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Park Temple, 325 School Rd. with Captain Phil Franco officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour hour prior to the service. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the nursing staff of the 4th floor at Grace Hospital for their loving care. Thanks to all those who have visited, sent cards and flowers, and especially to those who kept us in your prayers. Donations may be made in Eileens memory to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, 500-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1L8.
