Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTHONY MANITOWICH Tuesday, December 29, 1914 - Wednesday, February 6, 2002 Peacefully, in the early hours of Wednesday, February 6, 2002, Anthony Manitowich passed away at Concordia Hospital. Anthonys memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife of 60 years, Olga; son Terry (Kathy) daughter Lena McDougal (Tom) and grandchildren, Craig and Susan (fiance Gregg) sisters, Pauline Banash (Joe), Lena Nelson (Bob) brother Walter (Milly), as well as sisters-in-law, Mary, Jeanette and Winnie. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Pelagia; brothers, Peter, Frank and Stanley; sisters, Sophie and Mary, as well as brothers-in-law, Fred and Peter. Anthony was born in Walkeyburg, MB, moving to Poplar Park at a young age. He worked on his parents farm while going to school. Anthony also worked at trapping, fishing on Lake Winnipeg and owned first a grocery store, a billiard parlour and later a laundromat with his brother, Peter. He also worked for the C.N.R. from, the time of the billiard parlour, until his, C.N. career ended with his retirement in 1979 after 28 years of service. Dads retirement allowed him, to travel through the Southern United States as a "snowbird", to spend time at his cottage at Nutimik Lake, spend time with his grandchildren and to work so faithfully at his beloved church, "St. Michaels". Panakhyda will be sung on Sunday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St. Divine Liturgy will be sung on Monday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. V.J. Bozyk and Rev. Fr. A. Wach officiating. Interment will follow at Transcona Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Messers, Harvey Manitowich, Casimir Manitowich, Fred Chuhie, Tim Banash, Gord Gerylo and Clayton Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Messers, Dan Trochim, Leonard Trochim, Don Lefteruk, Joe Dutchak, Fred Bosko, Charlie Synchyshyn and Bill Hrynkow.
