Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM GORDON HOWE After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle Bill Howe in the Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, BC, February 5, 2002. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Archie Howe. He leaves to cherish his memory, sister Evelyn Fryatt, Winnipeg; brother Jack and sister-in-law Jean Howe, Surrey, BC; nephews, Donald and David Wallis; and great-nieces, Breanne and Taylor Wallis, Winnipeg. Bill was born November 18, 1932 in Gladstone, MB. He was employed with the C.P.R. until the death of his father Archie, September 1955 at which time he returned to Gladstone to help his mother Marjorie and Uncle Cliff Pritchett run the trucking firm, Howes Transfer. During those years in Gladstone he became interested in farming and purchased Stan Stewarts farm. Farming became the love of her life. Bill was a devoted, generous and loving son and brother. The family will always be forever grateful for the love, support and care he gave to his mother Marjorie who he lived with in Gladstone. During his lifetime Bill was an avid horse racing fan and spent many hours perusing his racing digest. He made many friends at the track and no matter how ill Bill was, he somehow managed the strength to head out to the race track to wager a few bets or "long shots" and chat with his friends. The family wishes to thank Drs. Cooke and Yaffe, and Tracy and nursing staff of CancerCare St. Boniface. Special thanks to Bills buddies, Ken Jarvis and Red Ries of Gladstone for their kindness and help. In accordance with Bills wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. To express your condolences, donations in Bills memory may be made to the All Saints Anglican Church, Attention Marie Pohl, Gladstone, MB R0J 0T0. DEAR LORD Put Your arms around Bill Hold him in Your tender care Make up to him for all he suffered And all he had to bear. He went through so much in silence His spirit didnt bend He faced his pain with courage Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose him But he didnt go alone For part of us went with him The day God called him home. Rest in Peace Bill
