Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY ERNEST SYE SIMONSON 1924 - 2002 It is with sadness that his family announces the death of Stan Sye Simonson on Wednesday, January 30, 2002, in Brockville, Ontario, after a battle with heart disease and cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Heffernan of Seeleys Bay, ON; brother Laurie (Mary) Simonson of Calgary; daughters, Carol (Gary) Gunvaldsen and Barbara (Raymond) Gislason of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Carla Nachtigall, Daniel (Anne) and Aaron (Kathryn) Gislason; great-grandchildren, Dustin Nachtigall, Adam and Kiera Gislason; and by nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins in Canada, the US, and Sweden. Predeceased by sisters, Inez Mickey Nicholson of BC and Verna Sawatsky of Winnipeg; and by parents, Emma Reese (from Adams N.D. and Fisher Branch) and Gabriel Simonson (from Ostersund, Sweden). Sye was born in Winnipeg. He served in Canadas military at an early age. He had a long and illustrious career as a senior construction project engineer, starting in carpentry and construction in Winnipeg, participating in developing northern Canadas NORAD sites, Montreal EXPO67, and a teaching stint at Queens University. The latter part of his career and his drive for excellence was dedicated to helping the healing of others by leading tehe construction of major hospital developments in BC, Ontario and Alberta. He also drew, carved, played the accordion, and loved to dance. His family is very proud of his accomplishments. Vi alskar dig, Dad Cremation has occurred. The family extends thanks for the excellent care provided by th doctors and nurses of Kingstons General Hospital and Cancer Centre, Brockvilles St. Vincent de Paul, and the ParaMed regional nursing services.
