PETER CHANWAY August 12, 1924 - February 8, 2002 Peacefully, on Friday, February 8, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Peter Chanway went to be with his Lord. Peter was predeceased by his wife Martha; his brother Bill; and his parents, Michael and Ella. Peter will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three sons, Greg, Chris (Marilyn) and Tim; grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew and Nicole, sister-in-law Mary and husband Alfred Forkheim and their family of Calgary; sister-in-law, Ann Chanway; nephew Gary and his family, Karen (John) and Michael, nephew Alan, all of Winnipeg; nephew Leslie and his son Jason of Calgary; niece Patricia (Jim) of Nepean, ON; as well as many other relatives and friends. Peter joined the Navy in 1943 serving aboard the H.M.C.S. Chippawa until 1945. He worked most of his life as an Electronics Technician with T. Eaton Co. before retiring in 1989. After retirement he was with the Corps of Commissionaires posted at the Health Sciences Centre, where he made many friends. Prayers were held on Tuesday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 13 (today) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Rev. Fr. Boris Kyba, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
