Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD PHILLIP WEISS January 19, 1945 - February 4, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Don on the morning of Monday, February 4, 2002, at the young age of 57 years, with his family by his side. Courageously he battled a short bout of cancer at the Health Sciences Centre. He will be lovingly remembered for his warm shoulder to cry on and his great humour to laugh at. Don is survived and will be sadly missed by his family from his first marriage to Mary-Anne Chaikosky and their children, Charlene (Rick), Chris and their brother Jason Chaikosky, Winnipeg; family from his second marriage to Karen Weiss and their children, Shawn (Wendy), Melanie (Danny) Weiss, Calgary, AB; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Stephanie Behma-Chaikosky, Winnipeg; grandmother Teenie Chaikosky, Surrey, BC; his uncle Alvin (Shirley) Weiss, Winnipeg; Judy Lynn Muise who was by his side for two years, held his hand and gracefully took the responsibility of taking care of Don throughout his sicknesses; his closest and longtime best friend Rosemary Howden of 25 years, who has been there for him through thick and thin throughout his life - she was the sister he never had; many friends and their families from Winnipeg and Calgary that gave him all the support and love that a person could. Don was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Karl Weiss; and his grandfather Phillip Chaikosky. As per Dads wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family gathering was held on Friday, February 8. Our family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses at the Health Sciences Centre (H6) and the St. Boniface General Hospital who gave Dad so much care. A very special thanks to Cindy at Health Sciences Centre for not only being there for our dad but also for being there for our family. A special thanks to Shelly, his home care nurse, for going out of her way to be there for our dad. If friends so desire, flowers or cards may be sent to 307 - 77 University Cres., Winnipeg, MB R3T 3N8. WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
