Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTHA HOFFMAN (nee GESKE) August 15, 1924 - February 7, 2002 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, on February 7, 2002. Mom was born on August 15, 1924 in the Camper area. In 1944 she married Arthur Hoffman and together they farmed in the Camper area until 1974 when they moved to Ashern. Mom enjoyed her yard and was known for her tasty cooking and baking. She looked forward to her Sunday evenings at the Legion and conversing with her friends. Mom was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Hockey and Football on TV. She took a special interest in her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She was predeceased by her husband Art in 1980; her parents, Edward and Ida; sisters, Lily Schiewe, Wanda Harrison, Lydia Kehler; brothers, Gus, Rudy and Fred. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Sharon Pottinger, Norma (Kirk) Pottinger, Debra (Vernon) Falk; grandchildren, Kyle (Diane), Troy (Sheila), Shantel, Breann, Devon, Jodie; great-grandchildren, Corissa, Victoria; step grandchildren, David and Tara; sisters, Olga Gabel, Martha Spittal, Norma (George) Flemming, Lorraine Berryman; brother Lawrence (Babe) Geske and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends and relatives may pay their respects at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Ashern with Pastor Ivor Grant officiating. Interment to follow at the Dog Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vernon Falk, Ron Appleyard, Wayne Spittal, Randy Surgenor, Calvin Surgenor and Dwight Surgenor. We, the family, would like to express sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff and ambulance attendants at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moms memory to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild to be used in the Ashern Palliative Care Unit, c/o Runa Mangl , Ashern, MB ROC OEO Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES, LTD.
