CHRISTOPHER LACHLAN WATSON 1918 - 2002 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, the family with deep regret, announce the death of Chris Watson on his 84th birthday, February 7, 2002 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. He was born in London, ON. Chris will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Helen and her husband Del Stevens and Betty and her husband Dave Walker and cousins in Ontario and Scotland. He was predeceased by his twin brother in 1919, and later by his parents, Mary and Chris Watson. Chris worked for CP Rail for 43 years with the exception of army service during the Second World War and retired as a conductor in 1982. He had a variety of interests including swimming, boating, fishing and gardening. In his younger years he raised poultry and kept bee hives. In the winter he always had a rink ready for skating or hockey, and a bobsled run down the river bank. The family wishes to express appreciation to Al Williams and his family, to Gina Anderson and her family, to Dr. Sud and staff of the E.R. and the doctors and nurses on the fifth floor Seven Oaks General Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy St., with Reverend Don McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Chris Watson may be made to the Salvation Army Public Relations Office, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R2 or to a charity of ones choice. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 232 Kennedy Street 949-4878
