RUBEN RIEGE 1916 - 2002 Suddenly on February 8, 2002 Ruben passed away at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife Henrietta; son Gustave; one grandson and one great-grandson; seven sisters; and two brothers. His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Bill (Louise), Henry (Betty), Marian (Ron) Stefaniuk, Linda Taylor; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. Dad met and married his loving wife Henrietta in 1938 and together they raised their five children on the family farm in Meadows. In 1958 they moved to Winnipeg where he worked for Old Dutch Foods until his retirement in 1980. After he retired he enjoyed travelling with Mom. One of dads favourite pastimes was his time spent playing cards. Dad enjoyed gardening and was known as a Jack of all Trades and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, at 3:00 p.m. also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with viewing one-half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
