Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL ARHIPOV-ONUFRIJCHUK Michael Arhipov-Onufrijchuk passed away early on Sunday, February 3, 2002 at Vancouver General Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a severe accidental fall. Michael was born in Kiev, Ukraine, on November 7, 1984. In 1995, he accompanied his mother Margaryta Arhipov, and moved to Vancouver. Michael attended Templeton Secondary School in Vancouver, and then received his senior matriculation from the American School of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. While in high school, he was involved in community television at Rogers Cable, working in production with the International Media Corporation, and many student projects. He was also an active member of CYMK. Having travelled and lived in different countries, Michael enjoyed many friendships worldwide. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at Capilano College with the study of communication at Simon Fraser University as his goal. Michael will be missed and remembered always by his parents, Rita Arhipov and Roman Onufrijchuk; grandmother Ludmila Onufrijchuk; family in Kiev; and many, many friends across the world. Panakhyda (Prayers) will be sung 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, also at the Cathedral with Fr. J. Buciora officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michaels memory may be made to Children of Chernobyl, 200-2118A Bloor St., Toronto, ON, M6S 1M8.
