FRANK van GINKEL Peacefully, on Friday, February 8 at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, Frank van Ginkel passed away at the age of 75 years. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Juliette; his children, Brigitte (Felix), Greg (Wanda), and James (Diane) his grandchildren, Timothy, Sam, and Elysa; his brothers, Gus (Josie), Gerry (Blanche), and Tony (Rosemary) and his sisters, Kitty, Mary (Gerry), and Elsie (John) and many nieces and nephews. His brothers, John, William, and Peter and his sisters, Trudy and Anne, predeceased him. Born in Eindehoven, Holland on February 20, 1926, Frank immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953. He pursued a career as a general contractor, founding Trident Construction Limited. He was an active member of the construction industry serving as President of the Winnipeg Builders Exchange, as a board member of the Canadian Construction Association and as a member of the Manitoba Labour Board. Frank loved to vacation with his family and traveled throughout North America by car. He also looked forward to his retreats at the cottage in the Whiteshell and at his winter home in Mesa, Arizona. Frank enjoyed the fellowship of his friends at the Carleton Club and serving as President for two years. He was an avid card player and enjoyed many games with his friends at the Club. Frank benefited from the exceptional care at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home and the Grace General Hospital. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and Rina and Riccardo Sandron for their support over the past year. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m. in St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Michael Koryluk presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
