ROSALIA (ROSE) KLINGER February 7, 1907 - February 8, 2002 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rose Klinger, at St. Josephs Residence, surrounded by her loving family and friends as they prayed by her bedside. Mom was born in Austria, one of 11 children, to Josef and Elizabeth Boehm. She immigrated to Canada in 1928 and settled in Winnipeg. She married Joseph Klinger, her childhood sweetheart, at St. Josephs R.C. Church. They were blessed with four children. Mom took pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was interested in each ones achievements. Their times with her were special and will always be remembered as happy ones. She enjoyed her weekly walks and coffee at Kildonan Park, feeding the squirrels and birds, enjoying flowers and her garden at home, and spending time at the lake. Her love for all animals and their love for her was evident, as every stray seemed to find its way to her door. Mom was an honorary member of St. Josephs C.W.L. and a long-time member of St. Josephs Golden Age Group, as well as the St. Josephs Golden Age Bowling League. She was also an honorary member of the Canadian German Society, St. Josephs Parochial Society and the St. Josephs Sick Benefit Club where Mom and Dad enjoyed league bowling. Mom worked for a number of years at St. Josephs Hospital, which later became St. Josephs Residence in the North End. Mom was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph on September 18, 1956. After Dads passing she was very fortunate to have lived with her daughter Dorothy and her son-in-law Don and their children, and enjoyed being part of their family unit until her illness three years ago. She was also predeceased by her nephew and his wife Joe and Connie Boehm. She is survived by her son John (Anne) of Regina; daughters, Mary (Joe) Blei, Dorothy (Don) Lang and Theresa (Erhard) Meier of Winnipeg; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Germany. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of St. Josephs Residence for the care given and compassion shown to our mother during her stay. Prayers will be said Wednesday evening, February 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, corner of Mountain and Andrews, with Father Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Moms memory to St. Josephs Residence, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2P 1S6; The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8; or a charity of ones choice.
