Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNETTIE MELNYCHUK Peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2002, at Concordia Hospital, Nettie, passed away at the age of 66. She was born in Silver, MB on October 11, 1935. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Pearl; brothers, John and Paul. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lena (Bill) Romance, Ann (Nick) Rigey, Valerie (Paul) Symynshen, Teenie Buchko, Sophie (Ted) Gierys, Mary (Ted) Mozol, Eva (Bob) Podolsky; brothers, Peter (Myrtle), Nicholas (Leona), Steve (Sharon) and William; godchildren, Ronald Mozol and Gary Podolsky; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Nettie retired from Western Grocers after working for 25 years. Nettie led an active and full life in spite of her health problems. Travelling was her passion and she kept elaborate records of her travels. Besides travelling, she spent her time doing volunteer work, photography, crocheting, paper tolling, calligraphy and gourmet cooking. She was an avid watcher of football and hockey games. Somehow Nettie still found time for family and friends and kept in very close contact. She loved her nieces and nephews very dearly. Nettie will always be remembered for her special smile and the unconditional love and support she gave to all of us. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. D. Johnson and staff at Concordia Hospital for their compassion and kindness to Nettie. Prayers will be conducted by Deacon Victor Humniski on Tuesday, February 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt and Munroe with Rev. Father Darren Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation in Netties memory may be made to the Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6.
