Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED LUN-FAI CHOY After a brief illness and with the quiet dignity and courage that marked his young life, Fred suddenly passed away on February 10, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife and constant companion of 23 years, Lyne (nee Chouinard) and his four children, Melissa Yee-Lai, Jeremy De-Ming, Jasmyne May-Lai, and Mackenzie De-Wai. He will be mourned by his parents whose teachings he lived, Ben Wing-Chek and So Sheung. He will be remembered always by his grandmother, Lee Fun-Oi; brothers, Bob Bok Keung and Dan Yew Fai (his wife, Julie) and his 15 nieces and nephews. He is especially remembered by his Aunt Shirley Sin Yuen Vlassie; his cousins, Sheun Choy and King Hui; his wifes family, Elaine and Dick Unrau, Mitch and Debbie Chouinard, Danielle and Larry Fletcher, Pete and Paulette Chouinard; mother and father in-law, Larry and Micheline; Uncle Ronald and Aunty Ann. His friends, too numerous to mention here, know the joy they brought to his life. Fred was born on September 6, 1952 in Tai Gong, Hoisang, Guohong, China and immigrated to Canada in 1964. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering from University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Engineering in 1976. He began his young career as an engineer with Manitoba Hydro before establishing his own business, Manlab Internet in 1992. Although dedicated to his business, the centre of this life was always his wife, children, family and friends. He was especially proud of his two eldests accomplishments, Melissas business venture in Yee-Lai Designs and Jeremy joining him at Manlab. His life was fulfilled with the blessing of the two youngest children, Jasmyne and Mackenzie. They brought him unending joy and pride. Lyne and the children will always remember Fred for his generosity, his selflessness, his humbleness, his easy spirit and the way he touched the lives of those around him. His strength will live on through them. A very special thank you for the compassion of Dr. Thottingal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity that has especially touched your life. Funeral service at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg on Thursday, February 14 at noon. Pallbearers will be John Lim, Andy Ling, Jason Unrau, Buckmon Yee, Brent Cross and Reid Edwards.
