ELIZABETH (LIL) JANET HUNTER Peacefully, on February 9, 2002, Elizabeth (Lil) Janet Hunter, beloved wife of William F. Hunter, passed away at the age of 87. Lil was born at home on February 22, 1914 in Winnipeg (St. James), MB to John and Margaret (Bald) McBeth. Lil grew up in St. James, received her education there and was married at her parents home to William Hunter on September 3, 1938. The Second World War sent them to Calgary, AB, as Bill was serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. They returned to Winnipeg to raise their children and resume their lives after the war. In 1965, Bill and Lil moved to California. In 1977 they retired to Bozeman, MT to be with their family and enjoy their grandchildren. Lil enjoyed reading and sewing. She made a great pie and loved to take trips in the car. Lil is survived by her daughters, Joyce M. Houghton and Marion (Henry) Hathaway; four grandchildren, Deborah (Roger Udink) Chorlton, Sharon (Stuart) Gale of Salt Lake City, Allan (Amy) Hathaway and Lisa G. Hathaway of Seattle, WA; two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Savannah; her cousin Irene McGrath of Winnipeg; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hunter and Helen Hunter and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents and her brother Peter James McBeth, preceded her in death. Many thanks to all the wonderful people at Gallatin County Rest Home and Dr. Fuller. You have taken such good care of Mom. May God bless all of you. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The procession for graveside services will leave Dahl Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, and proceed to Sunset Hills Cemetery.
