Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN MICHAYLOW With dignity and courage, Mom left us quietly at her home with her two closest companions, Oprah and Baby, at her side on February 9, 2002. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her husband Wesley, son Larry, daughter Diane and son-in-law Dennis. Extended family Pat, Elsie and Jack, Phyllis her travelling companion and longtime friend, and her employees at Holmes Auto Service. Mom shared a dream with Dad of having their own business. They were successful in establishing Holmes Auto Service. A part of this dream was to nurture her children into the legacy. In doing this she would have her family together. Mom was the cornerstone of the business and spent a lot of time greeting customers, making sure they got back on the road with a smile on their faces. She was the Smile Of The Day on Sunday, July 19, 1992. Mom never considered retirement; she was dedicated to her employees and customers. She had the ability to attract people instantly and develop lifelong friendships. Moms retreat was the family cottage with the family and her pets in which she loved dearly. Her passion was admiring natures beauty, especially animals. Mom was very active in the church teaching Sunday School, youth groups CMYK, and developing Ukrainian dancing, as her children were growing up. From the church dancers she created a Professional Dance Group, Meros Leckow Ukrainian Dancers of Winnipeg. This passion was so strong that she tailored all the costumes, found a shoemaker to have custom boots made for the dancers. There now lives a mural of this dance group on the wall of the Ukrainian Voice dedicated in her honour painted by her son-in-law and daughter. Mom was instrumental in ensuring that this mural was authentic. Baba will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Quincy, August Moon, Nina, Ming, Miles, Ohlana, Abbigail and Rembrandt. Funeral service will be held in the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. and Sinclair, on Friday, February 15 at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Jaroslaw Buciora presiding. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. In respect of Mrs. Michaylow, Holmes Auto Service will be closed on Friday, February 15.
