LAWRENCE ROBINSON SR. Peacefully on February 12, 2002 Lawrence Sr. has gone to be with the Lord. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Rosie of 54 years and children, Walter (Lucy), Marina Kubassek, Valery Bird (Henry), Hilda Garrick (Matthew), Floyd (Marilyn), Helen Settee, Melvin (Jean), Lawrence Jr. (Rose) and Richard (Pauline). Lawrence and Rosie also raised four grandchildren, Claudette Gabriel (Melton), Kimberly (Danny), Jason (Claudine) and Robert (Krissy). He leaves to mourn 38 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, cousins Irene Pranteau and Grace Gurski, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth, father John, brother Charles, sister-in-law Mary, sister Christine, infant brother, mother-in-law Sarah Jane and three infant grandchildren. Lawrence was raised and grew up in Dauphin River, but moved away to work and raise his family in Winnipeg. He worked for the City of Winnipeg for over 30 years until retirement due to ill health. Lawrence was a pastor for Indian and Metis Pentecostal Church for many years and worked with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada as Indian Director travelling throughout Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. He helped build many churches throughout his travels and encouraged others into the ministry. He had a musical ministry encouraging his children to also enjoy music through song and playing instruments. He enjoyed visitors, having an open door day or night. Lawrence and Rosie loved to sing praises first thing in the morning and before they went to sleep. He was always an encouragement especially to young people. He will be remembered for his faithfulness in serving the Lord. II Timothy 4:6-8 Wake services will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Flora Ave., Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Maurice McKay and Pastor Matthew Garrick officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Mitchell, Jane Robinson, Priscilla Robinson, Charles Settee, Henry Bird, Edward Bone, Victor Bone, Ernest Sumner, Norman Stagg, Earl Saari, Marvin Letander, George Andres, Hardi Kubassek, Anderson family (nieces and nephews), Josie Bear, Elvis Letander and Charles Letander. Active pallbearers will be Jason and Wally Robinson Jr., Stephen Kubassek, Robert Robinson, Jonathan and Matthew Garrick Jr., Craig Settee and Joseph Robinson. Special thanks to Doctors, Dialysis Unit and staff of GD4 of the Health Sciences Centre, Homecare workers, Christina and Carman and the many visitors who came to visit Mom and Dad.
