KENNETH ALAN SUMMERFIELD Courageously, after a brief battle with lung cancer, Ken Summerfield passed away Thursday, February 14, 2002 at the age of 64. He is survived by his daughter Jodi Petch (Chris), his brother David Summerfield (Gisele, Shannon), and his daughters mom, Audrey Shaw. By profession Ken was a writer - a bright creative light in the world of advertising and a scathing watchdog in his political columns. His frequent participation in Internet Forums and discussion groups and his fascination with information technology allowed him to bring constantly fresh and innovative ideas to his clients in Winnipeg and Regina as well as those he serviced via the World Wide Web. Over the years, he travelled throughout North America and packed a great deal of living into his all-too-brief time with us. He was a sensitive man who honestly cared about his country, his friends and people in general. An avid reader and gifted conversationalist, Ken was never at a loss for words and time spent with him was never dull. He brought his own unique perspective to living, thinking and writing and left an indelible impression on anyone who spent more than a few minutes with him. He is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed by family, friends and readers. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Kens memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
