Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HEWARD PALMER On Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at St. Boniface General Hospital, after a lengthy illness, George our beloved brother passed away. Leaving to cherish his memory are his sisters, Margaret Fingold, Marjorie Palmer, Joyce McTavish, Audrey Charbonneau; sister-in-law Florence Palmer and love of his life Ann Donahue and her son Todd. Also many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. George was born and raised in Elmwood and attended Lord Selkirk School. He joined the Sea Cadets enjoying his time there. After graduating from high school he started working in construction building homes. He worked for his brother-in-law Mickey Fingold in the carpenter shop for a few years then he went to work for Canada Packers for 33 years taking his pension when they closed. George liked fishing and hunting and he was a handyman like his father. He was always renovating, be it the cottage or his home. He spent many a happy summers renovating the cottage at Grand Beach with his mom, sisters Marj, Audrey and his dog Sam helping and later with Ann and their dog Bengie. He also renovated his home which was his pride. George wouldnt think twice about helping a friend. Love you George. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 pm at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301- 352 Donald St. R3B 2H8. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
