Mom was born on April 19, 1921, in Pansy. She was the second of eight born to Emily and Michael Konowalchuk. She worked at Sterling Cloak and Veteran Furrier. She retired at the young age of 70 to care for her grandchildren. Mom worked hard but always had time for anyone who needed a helping hand. There were many dinners and reunions with all the family. She stayed in touch with everyone by daily phone calls. They will be sadly missed. In the last few months, she had sleepovers with her sisters and a special visit with her brother from BC. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Donations may be made in Moms memory to the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the staff of 3 East, Riverview Health Centre for their awesome care, to Mary Ashcroft an all the Home Care workers for allowing her time at home. Special thanks to Father Jerry Ward for his prayers, visits, jokes, and support. Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. A HEART OF GOLD A heart of gold stopped beating Working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the ones that wont forget.
