ROSE EMMA GOURBIL (Nee COTE) It is with sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of Rose Emma Gourbil (nee Cote) on February 18, 2002, in her 98th year. Rose was born on February 6, 1904 in St-Pierre-Jolys, MB. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Elie Edouard Gourbil in 1991; her parents, Francois Cote in 1975 and Emma Cote (nee Tetreault) in 1973. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Corana Boux, Annette Fontaine, Rita Allen and Rolande Goguen; two brothers, Edmond Cote and Pierre Cote. Rose leaves to mourn her passing, a son Felix; his wife Anita and their son Francois from Montreal; a daughter Carmen from Winnipeg and her son Roger Zwickel from Miami Beach, Florida. Rose is survived by three sisters, Denise Claeys, Lucie Votto and Rachel Belair and a brother Edouard Cote and a number of nephews and nieces. Prayers will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 24 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., St. Boniface. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25 at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathedrale with Msgr. A. Frechette celebrant. Viewing will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Archibald Street. Active pallbearers will be her brother Edouard Cote; one niece Eliane Carmel and four nephews, Laurent Votto, Norbert Votto, Marcel Prudhomme and Gerald Fontaine. We wish to thank the 5th and 3rd floor staff of the Tache Centre. A special thank you to Carlita Weeks and Clara Lewis for the unbelievable love they gave our mother.
