Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE GAMBLE It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Gertrude Gamble on Monday, February 18, 2002 at the age of 71 at Riverview Health Centre after a battle with cancer. Gert was born in Viscount, SK on November 25, 1930. She moved as a child to McCreary, MB where she later met and married George Gamble. They then moved to Snow Lake, MB where they raised their five children. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1966. Widowed at a young age, Gert was employed by HBMS in Snow Lake. After her children were grown, Gert moved to Winnipeg where she worked for Eatons until her retirement in 1995. Left to cherish her memory are her son Rick (Carla) of Matlock; daughters, Diane (Van) Goulart, Judy (Dave) Mayer and Lee Ferguson of Winnipeg, Patsy (Garnet) Wallace of Calgary; nine grandchildren, Daisy (Marcello) Castellano, Tina Goulart, Jackie Goulart, and George Ferguson, all of Winnipeg, Dustin Mayer, Jennifer Mayer, Ryan Ferguson of Snow Lake, Amber Wallace and Chris Wallace of Calgary; and great-granddaughter Justine Castellano of Winnipeg. Her sisters, Denise Joint of Calgary, Rita Sears of Windsor; and brother Gerry Lemire of Burlington. Gert enjoyed gardening and had the magic touch to produce beautiful flowers year after year. She also had a deep love for animals and her two dogs were an important part of her life. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22 in the Edward J. Coutu Ltd. Funeral Chapel located at 680 Archibald St., with Fr. Ron Leger officiating, followed by an interment at the St. Boniface Cemetery.
