Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE ELLEN ANNE HENRY On Sunday, February 17, 2002, with her family at her side, at the Portage District General Hospital, Marjorie Ellen Anne Henry of Portage la Prairie and formerly of the Rossendale District, widow of the late Robert Henry, passed away at the age of 75 years. Funeral service will be held at the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, February 22 at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Leith Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the family plot at Rossendale Cemetery. Marjorie was born February 6, 1927, daughter of Azile and Albert Delf at Rathwell where she was raised and received her education. She then went to work for Eatons Mail Order in Winnipeg until she married Robert Clarence Henry in 1950. Together they farmed in the Rossendale District where she lived for 50 years until moving to Portage in 2000. Marjorie was a member of Bells and Bows Senior Group at Rossendale and the 4-H Club. She enjoyed country music, listening to CFRY (especially on Sunday mornings), playing bingo, watching baseball and curling, and travelling to the occasional Brier. Marjorie loved gardening, and her flowers, cooking and was known for her bread and delicious buns. Predeceased by her husband Robert in February of 1993 and one son Lawrence in December of 2001. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Linda and Stewart Hird of Rossendale and their children, Wesley (Kathy), Roxanne (Richard), Tammy (Chris) and Jolene (Kevin) daughter Roberta and husband Stan McDonald of Winnipeg and their children, Vincent (Barb), Lanny (Tim), Pattie (Terry) daughter Barbara of Portage la Prairie and children, Larry, Terry (Kris), William and Trevor; daughter-in-law Debbie of Winnipeg; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Ernie, Ken (Rosemary) of Winnipeg and Gordon (Margaret) of Kelowna, BC; one sister Muriel (Gordon) Seddon of Edmonton; one aunt Muriel Sutton of Vancouver; sisters-in-law, Ruby Scammell, Vera (Fred) Bowles and Connie Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
