EDWARD KROEKER Edward Kroeker, aged 52 years, beloved husband of Lorraine, a father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 4:45 a.m. The funeral service will be held at the Richmond Park M.B. Church, Brandon, Wednesday, February 20 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at the Sparling cemetery. Fellowship will follow at the Justice Mennonite Brethren Church. Ed was born in Winnipeg on October 22, 1949 to John and Anne Kroeker. Ed grew up in Winnipeg, but also lived with his family in Ontario for a period of time after which the family moved back to Winnipeg where he went to Tec-Voc High School. He met his future wife Lorraine there and they married on May 3, 1969. Ed and Lorraine moved out to the Douglas area to farm with his uncle John Loewen, before he and Lorraine bought their own farm in 1976. Ed became a Christian the winter of 1972 and was baptized the following year, becoming a member of the Justice M.B. Church where he and his family attended. Eds first passion, besides his family, was farming, which he did for almost 30 years. In that time, Ed also drove school bus and worked at Murrays car dealership in Neepawa. For the past two years, Ed was able to enjoy the life of long haul truck driving, with Lorraine joining him on the road for the last three and a half months of his life. Most of all, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake, skiing and camping. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, model railroading and playing games with his family and friends. Ed was very involved with Gospel Light Bible Camp, serving on the camp board, counsellor and camp director for many years. When he wasnt in a serving position, he attended as a camper. Ed also served in many positions at church, from Sunday School teacher, usher, deacon and moderator. Ed lived life to the fullest and spread his happiness and laughter to those around him. He leaves to mourn, his wife Lorraine, his four children, daughter Jennifer and husband Billy Ellis and their three children, Kirby, Brooklyn and Ty; son Michael Kroeker and wife Shauna; sons, Geoffrey and Nicholas Kroeker; his parents, John and Anne Kroeker; brothers, John Kroeker and wife Irene, Rich Kroeker and wife Olga, and Dave Kroeker and wife Colleen; sisters, Julie Gawryliuk and husband Steve, Carol Urbanski and husband Tim and Ev March. He also leaves, sisters-in-law, Linda Bergen, and Anita Place and husband Tom; brother-in-law Don Bergen and wife Lee and their families. Edward Kroeker will be greatly missed, but we await the day when we will be reunited with him in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons and to the Gospel Light Bible Camp, in care of Richmond Park M.B. Church, 1525-26th Street, Brandon, MB R7B 3C2. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel and Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
