ALMA AUDREY MATTHEWS (KRUG) Alma Audrey Matthews (Krug), born May 12, 1917, passed away quietly in Cottonwoods Extended Health Care Unit February 15, 2002. She is survived by her husband Wilson of 59 years; sons, Lorne (Beverly) and Larry (Barbara) grand-children, Mykaela, Carolyn, Sean and great-grandson Liam; sister Joyce; and brothers, Irvin (Muriel) and Nelson (Beatrice) along with nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John Conrad (Cooney) Krug and mother Maria (Wallach) sister Annetta (Roy) brother Lawrence (Aileen) brother Richard; and sister Ella (Ben) four halfsisters and brothers of a prior marriage, Pearletta, Wilfred, John and Dorothea. Alma was born May 12, 1917 and raised on the family farm near Lorlie, SK. She received her education at Lorlie PS and attended Lorlie United Church. She was active in the Sunday School as a student, teacher, organist and choir member. She married Wilson Matthews on December 26, 1942. Throughout her married life she continued to follow her home training to be the best homemaker she could possibly be. Her husband and sons never lacked for good food and a clean house. She was an excellent participant in fun and games and she had a committed love for her family. A celebration of Almas life will be conducted by Rev. Susan MacGregor, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23 in the Winfield United Church on Berry Road.
