MIKE WASKUL On February 19, 2002 at the Vita Hospital, our father Mike Waskul passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years. Mike married Nellie Melnychuk in 1930 and they resided most of their lives on a farm in Arbakka. To a lot of people he will be remembered by his travelling sawmill. He is survived by his four sons, Willie and Olga of Vita, Jerry and Frances of Winnipeg, Ben and friend Jean of Winnipeg, Emil and friend Diane of Winnipeg; four daughters, Mary Dolinski and friend Bill, Olga and Frank Macsymetz, Anne and Len Rybak, Jean and Paul Prociuk, all of Winnipeg, 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie; son Frank; parents, Dymtro and Paraska; sisters, Pauline and Anna and brother Nick. Prayers will be said on Friday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach followed by the funeral mass on Saturday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Vita with Rev. Father Ihor Royik officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Len Rybak, Paul Prociuk, Ken Waskul, Colin Waskul, Russel Macsymetz and Ken Gurman. Sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at the Vita Health Centre for the loving care and comfort they gave Dad. Also special thanks to the Home Care workers and many friends for their kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery Fund, Vita, MB. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel, Steinbach. (204) 326-1351.
