Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLES ALEXANDER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Lester (Les) Alexander from heart failure on Saturday, February 16, 2002, in St. Petersburg, FL, at the age of 69. Born July 15, 1932, in Stittsville, ON, the youngest son of William and Ruby Alexander. He leaves to mourn his best friend and wife of 46 years, Elaine; daughter Judy (Doug) Burba of Brandon, MB, grandson Gerald; son Brad (Tracey) Alexander of Winnipeg, granddaughter Vanessa; daughter Cathy (Jan) Anderson of Toronto, ON, grandsons, Ryan (Jody), Cory and Casey. He is survived by his brother Larry and Omer; mother-in-law Mildred Wing; sisters-in-law, June (Ray) Radbourne, Viv (Joe) Fahrngruber; brothers-in-law, Jim (Marlene) Wing, Norm (Joan) Wing; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Babs. Les was a very kind patient and gentle man who was the first person you could count on to lend a helping hand or provide advice and wise counsel to anyone. Dad and Mom always put the needs of everyone else before theirs and their unselfishness was admired by all. His career with Royal Bank spanned over 37 years and took the family across the country where many friendships were developed and continue to exist today. Dad and Mom had great enjoyment of many years at their summer home in Kenora (Hockey Haven) which eventually became their permanent residence after retirement. You couldnt wipe the smile off of Dads face each year he completed his "annual water ski". One of Less greatest pleasures was when family and good friends surrounded him. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday, February 25 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. There will be a memorial service on Monday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m. also in the Thomson Funeral Chapels. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Biggins, Duane Bailey, Orville Carter, Don Chase, Graham Hagues, Ian Russell, Larry Shields and Bill Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc. or a charity of your choice. Dad, you will be missed more than you will ever know. Although you are gone, we can feel your love that lives within us. Now its your turn to go "Cruisin Down the River". THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
